What is art? Art is a form of imagination.In art you can create anything that you imagine. Art has been a source of fascination from the beginning of mankind. The first form of art was made by the cave men with an unknown ink, usually a dark or bloody color or inscribed on the walls of a cave. The era of Paleolithic art began roughly 2.5 million years ago to 10,000 B.C., Paleolithic art are the cave paintings made by the ancient humans on the walls of a cave. These painting are found only in some parts of the world now and this era was also the dawn of human creativity. The second era of art was the Mesolithic art. While the start and end dates of the Mesolithic art vary by geographical region, it dated approximately from 10,000 BCto 8,000 BC. While in the Paleolithic cave arts depicts colored drawings expressive features of animals and a full range of colors are used but in the Mesolithic art no realistic figures are present and only the color red is used. The third era of art was the classical art. The classical art erabegan at 500 BC to 500 AD. To honor their vast respect of gods, the Geeks created beautiful sculptures and elegant architecture with marble. Their artistwerehighly focused on portraying the beauty of human, and created sculptures that werehighlynaturalistic. Despite popular belief, these sculptures were not white when completed, but were painted a vast array of colors.

Following their conquering of the Geeks, the Romans adapted the Geek’s artistic style for they believed it was unparalleled. In fact, most of the Classical Art that has survived today is Roman, not Geek. The fourth era of art was the Medieval art. The medieval art era began at the time of the fall of the Roman Empire in 300 CE and continued until the beginning of the Renaissance in 1400 CE. It was the type of art which lacked depth or perspective, the figures were still and elongated, facial expressions lacked emotions, background frequently a solid color with temper. Most of the time it also showed different type of execution. The fifth era of art was the Renaissance art. The Renaissance art era began at the late 1300’s to 1600 AD. The main characteristics of Renaissance art were classicism, emphasis on human figure, realism & expression, perspective, light & shade. This was also the time when Leonardo da Vinci painted The Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. The sixth era of art was the Neoclassicism art. The Neoclassicism art era began in the 1760s, reached its height in the 1780s and ’90s, and lasted until the 1840s, ‘50s. the rules the artists had to follow were the artists had to use some sort of classical Roman or Geek style, the artists had to look into the past and use historical events, mythology, biblical sense as reference, the art had to be dignified, the art had to be some sort of heroic topic, and finally the art had to be in highly polished style. The seventh era of art was theRomanticism art. The romanticism art began in the early 1800 AD to 1850 AD. The main characteristics were the art intended to move and inspire, the background would have vast, unlimited space, the art would be dramatic, restless and moody and the lastly the art would be expressive. The eighth era of art was the modern art. The modern art era began in 1850 AD to 1900 AD. The main characteristics of modern art were Anxiety and Interrogation, Art for Life’s Sake, growing interest in the poor class and the working class, Impact of socio-economic condition onliterature, Psychology and literature, Impact of the two World Wars, Symbolism,

Formalism, Individuality, Experimentation was one of the finest qualities and lastly Science fiction. The ninth era of art is the. The Contemporary art began in 1960 AD and is still used till the present days. The main characteristics of contemporary art are it is based on abstract expressionism, it has heritage of artistic vanguards and seeks different forms of expression, it has bases coming from abstract art, its works are original, artistic and leave the mark of the author who makes them.
